Peaches

I need a calm and quiet, adult only home where I can settle in at my own pace. I will need a kind resident dog to take me under their wing. I have never met cats. I am nervous and will need a very secure garden I’ve never been on walks before and will need a gentle introduction. I have been spayed and have had one tooth extracted. Peaches has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is a very scared little girl at the moment and is understandably overwhelmed by all the changes she is facing. Although she will spend time in the same room as people now, she still finds close contact very worrying and does not yet understand that human hands can be kind. Peaches is beginning to show small signs of progress in her own quiet way. With gentle encouragement, she may cautiously approach for a treat and is becoming more inquisitive about the world around her. Recently, she has even started to show a playful side, enjoying taking toys out of the toy box and having a little play with each one, which is a lovely glimpse into her personality as her confidence slowly grows. However, she remains very sensitive and hand-shy, and handling is still extremely difficult for her. When handled, she may freeze and become distressed, so she will need adopters who are experienced with scared ex-breeding dogs and who are happy to go at her pace with no pressure. She will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult-only home where she can begin to relax and settle in her own time. Peaches can startle easily but will settle again with reassurance, and a predictable, peaceful environment will be key to helping her feel safe.
