Sam

Sam is an approximately 11 year old male medium mixed breed currently in Lincolnshire. Sam is described as affectionate, intelligent and playful. Despite his age, he still enjoys bursts of energy and interactive play. He forms strong bonds with his primary carer and thrives on close companionship. He is fully housetrained and is used to having free run of the home. He walks well on a harness and sits calmly to have his lead attached. He can be left alone for reasonable periods and enjoys learning new tricks and engaging in mental stimulation. Sam currently lives alongside calm foster dogs and coexists well; however, he prefers not to share food, toys or personal space. For this reason, he is best suited as the only dog in the home. He can be reactive towards unfamiliar visitors entering the house and shows protective behaviour around his home and primary person. Slow introductions and clear boundaries are important. Once he trusts someone, he is affectionate and loyal. Sam would be best suited to a quiet, adult-only home with limited visitors. A calm, rural or low-traffic environment would help him feel secure and settled.
