Skye

Skye is a 2 year old female Cross-Breed and is large in size. She can live with confident cats, can live with other dogs following successful meets, and would be best suited to a home with children aged 16 years and over. She is based in Cheshire. Skye is reactive to new people visiting the home, so she will need a household with minimal visitors. Her new family will need to continue working with her on this. With the people she knows and trusts, Skye is a happy, loving, and affectionate girl. She is a big puppy at heart with a goofy personality. She loves playing with her toys and enjoys enrichment such as kongs and lick mats. Skye accepts a collar, harness, and lead. She is very strong on the lead and does pull. She can be highly reactive on walks, particularly towards other dogs and people. However, she has made friends with a small dog near her home and is good with them. Skye is toilet trained and crate trained. She does display destructive behaviour towards items such as furniture and remote controls. The cause of this is unknown, but it is improving over time. She can be left alone but needs to be crated to prevent destruction. She settles well overnight and travels well on short car journeys. Skye can also be reactive to people walking past the home, so a quiet location or a property with a private entrance would be ideal. She may show guarding behaviour around high value treats such as bones with other dogs, so these should be avoided.
