Meet ALBI, a 9 -year-old small-sized corgi type. ALBI once walked the front lines of war, shoulder-to-shoulder with Ukrainian soldiers. But in the UK, we misunderstood him terribly.
We thought he needed peace and quiet. We placed him with elderly people, in silent homes with no other pets. But he was miserable. He was misunderstood, unhappy, and reactive—trying to tell us something we failed to hear.
Then something beautiful happened. When ALBI was just days away from being sent to kennels, a wonderful foster stepped in—and everything changed.
Now living in an active household with children and dogs, ALBI is a completely different dog. His foster says:
“He’s the most perfect dog I’ve ever met. Kind, loving, grateful. He adores being part of the action—bonfires, walks, games, relaxing by your side—he just wants to be included.”
“He loves kids—especially calm, dog-savvy ones—and he adores other dogs. Even shy or reactive dogs feel safe with him because he reads them so well and gives them space. He’s playful, gentle, and so grateful for every moment. Even visitors don’t upset him anymore—he’s just relaxed and joyful.”
ALBI has finally shown us who he really is. This is his fresh start. And now he needs the right home to match.
Highlights SIZE: Small (38 cm / 14 kg – needs to lose a little weight) NEUTERED: Yes CHARACTER HIGHLIGHTS: Affectionate, gentle, playful, social DOGS: A must – he thrives in company (female dogs preferred) CATS: Not tested CHILDREN: Great with calm, dog-savvy kids aged 10+ HEALTH: Good, just needs joint supplements and weight management
In one of those homes in England, ALBI was terribly mistreated. He was misunderstood and punished—possibly even physically. His stress and anxiety spiralled, and shockingly, he was booked for euthanasia by someone who claimed “he doesn’t deserve to live around people.”
Thankfully, we found out in time and took him back. When he returned to his previous foster, she was heartbroken to see how much he’d changed—nervous, reactive, broken in spirit. But even after all of that, ALBI’s heart was still open.
But ALBI never gave up. And today, in a home full of life and love, is ALBI finally at peace.
Detailed Information ALBI is full of heart. He loves other dogs and needs to live with them—they help him feel joyful. He’s clever, wise, and respectful, especially around timid or fearful pups. He also absolutely adores children—but only gentle, calm ones who understand dogs.
He loves his walks, his garden time, and just being part of the family routine. His former reactivity? Gone. His fear of visitors? Gone. Even around men, he now behaves beautifully, simply because he’s happy and no longer stressed or bored.
ALBI sleeps soundly, enjoys soft beds, and lives for companionship. He’s not a loner—he wants to be where his people and his pack are. He doesn’t need a mansion, just a home full of love and movement, and people who will include him in their world.
Ideal Home ALBI is seeking an active, loving home with at least one other friendly dog (the more the merrier). A secure garden is a must. The older children who are kind and respectful will be welcomed by him with open paws.
He’d suit a home where someone is around most of the time—he loves his humans deeply. A calm but lively household where he can be included in walks, playtime, and snuggles is exactly what he’s been waiting for.
ALBI is a new dog in a new life. After everything he’s been through—from war trenches to emotional neglect—he’s finally happy. And we owe it to him to keep it that way. ALBI has come through war and heartbreak, and still, he chooses to love. He was let down—more than once—and yet here he is, smiling again. He just needs a family to keep that smile on his face.
If you’ve got a home with wagging tails, gentle hands, a few muddy walks and space on your sofa for a small, loyal war hero… ALBI is ready to give you his whole heart.
Health Information ALBI is in good health. Neutered. Fully vaccinated. Microchipped. Needs mild weight loss and joint supplements. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before the trip (owners receive a licensed laboratory test certificate).
